Moissanite solitaire and halo pendants from EUR 24: round, oval, pear, cushion and heart stones, many graded D color and VVS1 clarity.

These 62 pendants center on one main moissanite, set alone in four prongs or a bezel, or framed by a halo of smaller stones. Round brilliant is the most common cut, alongside oval, pear, cushion and heart shapes. Most are 925 sterling silver, many with rhodium, platinum, white gold or yellow gold plating, and a few are solid 14k white or yellow gold. Prices run from EUR 24 to EUR 411.

Stone weights start below 0.5 ct, and 57 of the 62 pendants carry 1 ct or more, with larger pieces such as a 4 ct round halo and a 6 ct pear. A 0.5 ct or 1 ct stone looks discreet on a fine chain for daily wear, while stones of 3 ct and above, or a halo, stand out more in the evening. A bezel wraps the edge of the stone in metal for a smooth outline, while prongs leave more of the stone open to the light.

A solitaire pendant is a classic gift for Valentine's Day, a birthday or Mother's Day. Some pendants come with a 2-inch extender, so you can choose whether the stone sits closer to the collarbone or lower. Wipe the stone with a soft cloth to keep it bright, and keep the pendant away from chlorine and household cleaners, which can damage the plating.
