Every Torsade piece begins the same way — as two lengths of precious metal, waiting to become one. What follows is a story of the hand, of patience, and of the twist that gave our house its name.

In a quiet corner of the atelier, a craftsman selects two cables of sterling silver, each drawn to a hair’s exact diameter. There is no machine for what comes next. The cables are annealed in flame until they glow the colour of dawn, then coiled — slowly, deliberately — one around the other, until the tension is perfect and the twist holds its own memory.

A language of tension

The Torsade twist is deceptively simple. Too loose, and the form loses its rhythm; too tight, and the metal fatigues and fractures. The craft lives in the space between — a feel for tension that cannot be taught from a book, only earned across years at the bench.

The signature twist, coiled by hand in sterling silver and 18k gold.

We do not make jewelry to be looked at. We make it to be lived in.

Finished at the bench

Once the twist is set, the piece passes to the finisher, whose files and polishing wheels bring the metal to a soft, enduring lustre. Each curve is worked by hand until light travels the length of the cable without interruption — the mark of a piece finished not to a deadline, but to a standard.

It is slow work. A single bracelet can occupy a craftsman for the better part of a day. But this is the pace the material demands, and the reason a Torsade piece is designed to outlast the trends that surround it — worn, and passed on, for a lifetime.
